Osaka castle

We met up with my uncle at Glitch today, he’s been living in Japan for over 8 years here in Osaka. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him because he lived in Canada for most of his life and we’ve only had an overlap of 5 years when I first moved there.

We got espressos, lattes and pour overs from Glitch. They make their pour overs and espresso REALLY well so I usually order 2 drinks 🤣.

This was Angela’s first time trying Glitch’s coffee, as well as her first experience with specialty coffee. While coffee fermentation and processing vary, traditional methods involve allowing the beans to ferment naturally—whether in the open air, in barrels, or with their mucilage intact. However, Glitch’s “Innovation” collection takes a different approach by fermenting coffee with additional ingredients. For example, coffee fermented with whiskey tends to develop chocolatey, malty notes, while coffee fermented with fruits like mango or peach takes on the distinct flavors of the fruit. They also experiment with other fermentation techniques, such as aging coffee in wine, rum, or whiskey barrels.

I feel like we’ve accidentally ruined Angela’s future interaction with other specialty coffees because her bar is now set insanely high 😅

大阪城に行きました

We went to my uncles place to pick up his dog Daikichi-kun so we can take him on a walk to Osaka castle.

We were able to catch some blossoms in the castle grounds which was nice!

Decided to try climbing the Castle instead

We went shopping at Kyobashi and found a thrift store - 2nd street. I wasn’t able to take any pictures at all but this HTML shirt 🤣

We went to go to an Izakaya - Takoyakisakaba Kureoru Shinkyobashiten where we also met up with a friend I met in Canada. Surprisingly my uncle and Chika met each other while they’re in Japan and found out that they both know me. Small worlddddd

We were so tired and sleepy on the way back, we had about 21000 (about 8 miles in total) steps for the whole day! I hope I’ll be able to keep up with a higher step count when I’m back in the city.

Good night from Tita Angela.
